Late summer 2008 in the waning days of the Bush Administration (6 years into the Afghanistan War and 4 years into the Iraq War), during the last days of the too often polarizing campaign for president between John McCain and Barak Obama.

PLACE:

A forgotten neighborhood in Washington, D.C. near the Duke Ellington Bridge.

ACTION:

Reeve, a decorated, multiple-tour Marine is sent stateside for treatment of wounds sustained during an IED explosion while on active duty in Afghanistan.  The rest of his unit was killed in action, while he suffered wounds that left him in a coma for over a year.  His visible wounds have healed, yet 6 months of intensive physical therapy has left him no closer to leaving his wheel chair.

With his military career all but ended and his civilian life in shambles having alienated his family and friends, Reeve vows to do whatever is necessary to return to active duty and the familiar perils of live fire in the mountains and villages of Afghanistan, rather than be faced with the uncertainties and emotional turmoil of home.
